Faridabad–Jewar Airport Expressway Construction Update

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) began construction of the Faridabad Jewar Airport greenfield expressway on June 22, 2023, the minister informed the state assembly. In a written response to an unstarred question raised by Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma, it was clarified that an entry and exit point already exists on the Kundli Ghaziabad Palwal (KGP) Expressway via the Maujpur Chhainsa Mohana Road. Mohana village lies approximately 6.5 km from this access point. To further strengthen connectivity, an interchange is currently being developed at Mohana village to link the upcoming Jewar Airport expressway with the KGP Expressway. Additionally, entry and exit ramps are under construction along the Mohana Baghpur Falaida Road, close to the Haryana Uttar Pradesh border. This infrastructure will ensure smoother movement for commuters from both states. Since the KGP Expressway falls under the jurisdiction of NHAI, the Haryana state government will coordinate with the authority regarding the construction of the required entry and exit junctions for the Faridabad Jewar Airport expressway at Mohana, as announced by the chief minister. Faridabad Jewar Airport Expressway Route Details The proposed six-lane expressway will directly connect Sector 65 in Faridabad to the Noida International Airport at Jewar. Once operational, the corridor will also provide seamless access to the Delhi Mumbai Expressway and integrate with the Delhi Mumbai Link Road through the KGP Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. The expressway will span a total length of 31.4 km between Ballabhgarh and Jewar Airport. Of this, nearly 24 km will pass through Haryana, while the remaining 7 km will lie in Uttar Pradesh. This new corridor is expected to drastically reduce the travel distance between Faridabad and Jewar Airport from around 90 km to just 31 km. Once completed, the project is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and support economic and real estate growth along the corridor.
