The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated construction of the Faridabad Jewar Expressway , a greenfield infrastructure project aimed at directly connecting Faridabad in Haryana with the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, Uttar Pradesh . Once completed, this high-speed corridor is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and reduce travel time between NCR cities and the airport. The expressway is being developed under the central government s Bharatmala Pariyojana and is scheduled for completion by June 20, 2025 . Construction activities officially began on June 22, 2023 . Faridabad Jewar Expressway: Key Highlights Project Name: Faridabad Jewar Greenfield Expressway Total Length: 31.425 km Estimated Cost: ₹2,414.67 crore Number of Lanes: Six lanes (provision for future expansion to eight lanes) Bridges: 121 Construction Start Date: June 22, 2023 Target Completion: June 20, 2025 Distance from Faridabad to Jewar Airport: Reduced to 31 km Estimated Travel Time: Around 15 minutes from Ballabgarh to Jewar Airport Expressway Alignment and Route Details The Faridabad Jewar Expressway will originate from the Link Road junction on the Delhi Mumbai Expressway near Sector 65, Ballabgarh , and terminate near Dayanatpur town close to Jewar Airport . Out of the total length, approximately 22 km will pass through Haryana , while the remaining 9 km will lie in Uttar Pradesh . The project also includes 10-kilometre-long service roads on both sides of the expressway to facilitate local traffic movement and improve accessibility for nearby settlements. Major Highway Connectivity The new expressway will integrate Faridabad with several key road networks, including: Delhi Mumbai Expressway Yamuna Expressway Eastern Peripheral Expressway (Kundli Ghaziabad Palwal) Western Peripheral Expressway (Kundli Manesar Palwal) This network of expressways will allow smoother interstate travel and improve access to industrial, residential, and commercial hubs across NCR. This junction will connect the Faridabad Jewar Expressway with the Kundli Ghaziabad Palwal (KGP) Expressway , which already has an entry and exit point near the Maujpur Chhainsa Mohana Road. Additionally, the Mohana Baghpur Falaida Road is being upgraded to provide convenient access ramps, improving connectivity for commuters from both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Project Cost and Execution The expressway is being built at an estimated investment of ₹2,414.67 crore , funded and managed by NHAI. Once operational, the project will drastically shorten the travel distance between Faridabad and Jewar Airport, making airport access faster and more efficient for residents of southern NCR. Impact on Real Estate and Regional Growth The Faridabad Jewar Expressway is expected to act as a major growth catalyst for areas along its alignment. Improved connectivity to the international airport is likely to drive new residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in nearby regions. With the first phase of Noida International Airport expected to become operational by the end of 2024 , combined with proposed metro connectivity and new expressway infrastructure, surrounding towns are already witnessing rising interest from homebuyers and investors.
