The line runs from Kashmere Gate in central Delhi all the way to Raja Nahar Singh station in Ballabhgarh, passing through several key localities in South Delhi before entering the satellite city of Faridabad. It also serves as an important alternate route to the Yellow Line, which is among the most heavily used corridors in the entire Delhi Metro network. First Station: Kashmere Gate Kashmere Gate Metro Station serves as the northern terminus of the Violet Line and is also one of the most significant interchange hubs in Delhi's metro network. The station connects three separate metro lines and is located close to the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Kashmere Gate. It is built on both elevated and underground tracks to accommodate the Red Line, Yellow Line, and Violet Line. The station is fully accessible, featuring escalators and lifts for commuters with disabilities. In a significant upgrade, the DMRC installed ten additional escalators across several metro stations, bringing Kashmere Gate's total escalator count to an impressive 47 the highest at any station in the network. Trains on this corridor are capable of reaching a maximum operational speed of 100 kilometres per hour. The line traverses several of Delhi's most prominent commercial, cultural, and economic zones. Upcoming Extension: Silver Line Integration As part of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 project, the DMRC is set to begin construction of a 23.6-kilometre underground section known as the Silver Line, which will run from Aerocity to Tughlakabad. Upon completion, this corridor will feature an interchange facility at Tughlakabad Station, connecting the Silver Line directly to both the Violet Line and the Airport Express Line. The project is targeted for completion by 2025.
