Aerocity Metro Station in Delhi to Have Phase 4’s Longest Platform

Delhi s upcoming Aerocity Metro Station on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Silver Line is set to feature the longest platform among all Metro Phase 4 stations. The platform will be approximately 289 meters long, making it significantly larger than the usual underground metro platforms in this phase, which are generally around 225 meters. This extended design has been planned to manage the expected high passenger volume efficiently. The station is being developed as a major transport hub because it will serve as a triple interchange point. It will connect the Airport Express Line, the new Silver Line, and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor linking Gurgaon, Manesar, and Alwar. This strong connectivity is expected to improve travel convenience for daily commuters as well as air travelers heading to Indira Gandhi International Airport. To ensure smooth interchange between these major transit routes, the station will be constructed around 23 meters underground. This deeper design will help passengers move seamlessly between the different lines without major walking distances or inconvenience. The station will also provide direct access from Faridabad, South Delhi, and West Delhi to the airport, making regional travel faster and more efficient. Aerocity Metro Station will also include three separate entry and exit points for better passenger movement. One entrance will directly connect to the Aerocity business district, while the other two will link the station to NH-8 and the nearby Mahipalpur area through pedestrian access routes. This will improve accessibility for office workers, residents, and travelers visiting the commercial hub. The Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor has been planned to meet the rising transportation demand from areas such as Mehrauli-Badarpur, Chhatarpur Extension, and Mahipalpur. With rapid urban growth and increasing daily travel needs, this new metro connection is expected to reduce traffic congestion and strengthen public transport across South Delhi and nearby NCR regions. The longer platform is not just a structural upgrade but also a future-ready solution for managing increasing commuter traffic. As Aerocity continues to grow as a business and hospitality destination, this metro station will play an important role in improving urban mobility and supporting Delhi s expanding transport infrastructure. Overall, the Aerocity Metro Station is expected to become one of the most important transit points in Delhi Metro Phase 4. Its strategic location, triple-line connectivity, and longest platform design make it a major step toward faster, smoother, and more efficient public transportation in the capital.
