The Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) is a major railway infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity across several districts in Haryana while easing congestion on railway lines passing through Delhi. The railway line will operate at speeds of up to 160 km per hour , improving travel time and enhancing the overall efficiency of rail transportation in the region. Once completed, the corridor will help reduce pressure on railway routes that currently pass through Delhi by providing an alternative orbital route around the capital. Route and Major Locations The proposed rail corridor will connect several important locations across Haryana. The route will run roughly parallel to the Western Peripheral Expressway and pass through districts such as Palwal, Nuh, Gurugram, Jhajjar, and Sonipat . Key towns along the route include: Palwal Sohna Manesar Kharkhoda Sonipat These locations are known for their industrial clusters and rapidly developing residential areas. Stations and Connectivity The project includes multiple new railway stations along the corridor. Around 14 to 17 stations are planned to support passenger services and provide connectivity to nearby towns and industrial zones.
