Gurugram to Greater Noida: Upcoming RRTS to Reduce Travel Time

Travel between Gurugram and Greater Noida is set to become much faster with the proposed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The new high-speed rail corridor will span over 60 kilometres and include eight stations along the route. With an estimated investment of nearly Rs 15,000 crore, this project is expected to transform regional connectivity. The planned RRTS corridor will begin at Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram and extend to Noida Sector 142 and Surajpur in Greater Noida, passing through Bata Chowk in Faridabad . Once operational, the corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between major urban hubs, while easing road congestion and lowering pollution levels. This semi-high-speed rail system will be a major infrastructure upgrade for the National Capital Region . Future expansion proposals also include linking the RRTS network to Indira Gandhi International Airport , Gurugram, Faridabad, and Jewar Airport , further strengthening regional transit. Additionally, authorities are considering extending the RRTS corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Karnal, along with plans to expand the Gurugram Metro line up to AIIMS Badsa. Once completed, the RRTS corridor is expected to greatly benefit thousands of daily commuters travelling between Gurugram and Greater Noida, making intercity travel faster, smoother, and more efficient.
