Assam State Housing Board: Affordable Housing & Development Initiatives

The Assam State Housing Board (ASHB) is a governmental organization committed to providing affordable housing solutions to the residents of Assam. Established to address the escalating demand for residential spaces, ASHB undertakes a variety of projects, including rental housing, affordable housing developments, and collaborative ventures with private entities. Vision of Assam State Housing Board ASHB envisions creating inclusive and sustainable housing, especially in the face of rapid urbanization. Its primary objectives include: Affordable Rental Housing : Ensuring that low and middle-income groups have access to cost-effective rental accommodations. Collaborative Development : Partnering with private developers and governmental bodies to initiate new housing projects. Modern Housing Infrastructure : Developing contemporary residential units equipped with essential amenities in major urban centers across Assam. Sustainable Building Practices : Promoting environmentally friendly and durable construction methodologies. Joint Venture Housing Projects in Urban Areas ASHB is set to launch residential and commercial projects in various locations, including Guwahati, Morigaon, Jorhat, Golaghat, Tinsukia, and Sonitpur, utilizing its land assets. The initial phase will commence with developments in Morigaon Town and Krishna Nagar, Chandmari, in Guwahati. To maintain transparency and fairness, private partners for these projects will be selected through an Invitation for Bids (IFB). ASHB will provide the land, while the private collaborators will handle the construction and development. The revenue generated from these projects will be shared between ASHB and its private partners, ensuring mutual benefits. Land Development and Sale Schemes in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Mode ASHB is engaging in land development and sale initiatives through PPP arrangements. Collaborating with private landowners in and around Guwahati, ASHB aims to develop land by segmenting it into residential plots of varying sizes. These plots will then be sold to the public, with profits distributed between ASHB and the private landowners based on pre-agreed terms.
