The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) has introduced the Abhay Yojana (Amnesty Scheme) for 25 days, offering penalty waivers on delayed property tax payments. This initiative aims to help the civic body meet its property tax collection target for the fiscal year 2024-25 while providing relief to taxpayers with outstanding dues. Objective & Duration of Abhay Yojana The Abhay Yojana is designed to facilitate the efficient recovery of overdue property taxes within UMC s jurisdiction. Launch Date: February 24, 2025 End Date: March 18, 2025 Strict actions will be taken against defaulters after the deadline UMC Commissioner Manisha Awhale has clarified that this will be the final opportunity for property owners to settle their tax dues with penalty waivers, as no further relaxations will be provided. Penalty Waiver Structure The amount of penalty waiver depends on the payment date: Payment Period Penalty Waiver February 24 - March 6, 2025 100% waiver March 7 - March 12, 2025 75% waiver March 13 - March 18, 2025 50% waiver To benefit from the scheme, property owners must pay the full outstanding amount, as partial payments will not qualify for the waiver.
