MCG Initiates Doorstep Property ID Rectification Drive to Ensure Accuracy

In response to errors caused by a flawed survey conducted by a private agency three years ago, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has launched a door-to-door rectification drive to correct property ID discrepancies. This initiative aims to establish a more accurate and transparent property identification system while expediting the correction process. Door-to-Door Verification for Faster Resolutions During a recent monthly review meeting, MCG Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg directed officials to form specialized teams to conduct a comprehensive survey and rectify property identification errors. This measure is expected to enhance the credibility of property records and eliminate inconsistencies. To ensure efficiency, officials have been instructed to: Prioritize quick resolution of property tax-related claims, ensuring that applications are not rejected or reverted without a justified reason. Resolve objections within two days, with all necessary corrections noted at once to avoid unnecessary delays. Addressing a High Volume of Property ID Correction Requests By November 2024, Haryana had received 74,227 requests for rectifying property IDs. However, 85% of these cases were reverted to property owners due to incomplete information, while only 15% remained pending with MCG. The doorstep rectification initiative is expected to: Improve the accuracy and reliability of property records. Increase transparency in property taxation. Reduce legal disputes arising from identification errors. With this initiative, MCG aims to create a streamlined and accountable property registration system, ensuring a smoother process for property owners.
